IT for Alaska trucking and logistics.

We manage the IT environment behind a working fleet. Dispatch, ELDs, warehouses, terminals, and the home office. We support both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, which matters because most fleets in Alaska are on one or the other.

What is different about IT for trucking

A trucking company's IT does not look like a law firm's IT. You have drivers in the field needing reliable mobile data and ELD connectivity. You have warehouse staff scanning loads on handhelds that have to roam between buildings without dropping. You have dispatchers running fleet management software that has to be available every hour the trucks are running. You have a home office on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, an aging on-prem domain controller that won't quite die, and a backup that you hope works because you haven't tested it. We have seen all of this. We have fixed all of this.

Software and systems we already support

  • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace — full tenant administration for both. Most Alaska fleets are on one or the other; we run both.
  • Active Directory and on-prem domain controllers — for the legacy environments most fleets still operate.
  • Mobile Device Management for fleet phones and tablets — Meraki Systems Manager, Microsoft Intune, or Google Workspace MDM depending on your stack.
  • Warehouse and terminal networks — UniFi infrastructure designed for handheld roaming and barcode scanner reliability.
  • Site-to-site VPN — connecting terminals, warehouses, and the home office on a single secure network.
  • Dispatch and TMS reliability — uptime monitoring, backup verification, and patch management for the systems your dispatchers depend on.
  • QuickBooks Desktop on Windows Server — the back-office accounting environment most fleets are still running.

A real example from a real Alaska fleet

We currently support a multi-site Alaska trucking operation with terminals in Anchorage and remote locations across the state. The environment includes Active Directory across multiple sites, Google Workspace for email and productivity, mobile device management across 100+ phones, dispatch software that has to be available during every operational hour, and site-to-site networking that has to survive Alaska weather and Alaska ISPs. The systems run.
